My Instincts is built on one rule: your data stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what the app accesses, why, and what leaves your phone (almost nothing).

My Instincts runs a local language model (Gemma, via Google's MediaPipe framework) directly on your phone. All summarization, ranking, and question-answering ("Ask") happens in this on-device model. Your notification and message content is never transmitted to us, to Google, or to any other party for this processing.
Data the app captures (notification content, calendar events, your questions, your preferences) is stored locally in an encrypted database on your device. This data is excluded from cloud backups. Uninstalling the app deletes this data. You can also clear app data at any time from Android Settings.
If you explicitly opt in (a setting the app never enables by default), My Instincts can export a de-identified, category-level summary of your usage patterns — for example, "financial notifications: suppressed 3 times" — for the sole purpose of improving the app's on-device ranking model in a future update. This export contains no raw notification text, no names, and no account numbers. It is off by default and only ever created if you turn it on.
My Instincts is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the app's release notes.
